Mojo Mayhem

Hidey Ho campers!  Yes, it has been awhile since I have posted but when Michelle Hernandez asked me to join a mini blog-hop to celebrate our first year anniversary of blogging, I broke out my paintbrush and scissors, resuscitated my mojo, and got to work.  Here is my latest LO...

And here is the very first LO I posted about 1 year ago...

The most notable change in my scrapbooking is the subject matter.  I still have my wonderful boy Cade to supply me with plenty of photo opps, but if you'll look at my latest LO, you will notice...what?  What's that?  A MAN!

Michael and I have only been together for a few months, but I adore him and we have lots of fun, interesting outings, and I am looking forward to many more.  Please don't take away my scrappin' liscence, but I always forget to take my camera when we go out.  I know, I know...
I just want to say that it amazes me how many wonderful, hilarious women are involved in this craft, and I have the greatest time interacting with many of you.  Thanks for sticking around my site, leaving love, and inspiring me to do and be more.

I'd like to thank Cassie Box and Paper Issues for allowing me to be a part of their design team, and for allowing me the freedom to deal with real life issues while continuing to contribute (on occasion, lol) to their fabulous website.  Cassie, you are the trillest, crafty chica of them all :)

Next check out Christina Colon at http://www.memorablepages.blogspot.com/
and where the blog-hop starts - Michelle Hernandez at http://www.myanaloglife.blogspot.com/
We have all come a loooooooong way since just one year ago!

Thanks y'all!
Cheers!

Layout for Paper Issues "Make a Splash" theme. Luckily, we just floated (toobed) the San Marcos river a few days before, and I got these shots. We had a great time, except for that one guy that cannonballed off the bridge right next to me while I was sleeping! I'm sure my son will never do anything like that. Har har har. :)

Go to Paper Issues and link up your water themed layout!

This is my favorite Halloween page I have ever done! I am not much for the themed holiday papers, so I was happy to find the funky, retro style papers by Paper Trunk! You've gotta check out the whole line called Rockabilly, along with the "Flair" buttons. I have one of them in my blog header even! Paper Trunk is an up and coming scrap design label, be sure to check their website for fresh and fun papers and elements.

Oh, this is my son dressed as John Dillinger. Yes we are aware that Dillinger didn't have a French moustache, but it just looked so good with Cade's outfit!

As always, thanks for taking a gander at my Rockabilly boy :)

Wedding theme over at Paper Issues! Go check it out and link up your own special day masterpiece! :)

This is my sister, mother and myself at my sister's wedding a few years back.  I love how the background paper (Glitz) goes with the Something blue paper by Crate.  I also used Echo Park and Parisian Anthology by House of Three.  All Create paper embellies with some BG pearls thrown in.

Thanks for peekin'!  Come back soon! :)

Hi you guys!  Today's post centers around the June Challenge over at Sassafras Lass.  Here is the sketch by one of my paper idols, Michelle -

Sketch_JUNE

And here is my take on the sketch ~

Isn't it crazy how some layouts just flow together, and others take painstaking hours?  This was the former, thank goodness!
I used Sass Lass papers (my personal FAVE!)- from Anthem, Wall of Fame and from Mix and Mend, Alterations and Bungle Jungle's Tree Tops.  There is a paper whimsie card thrown in with a couple misted doilies, and a hand sewn tag by Amy Tangerine.  The pins are from For The Luv of Art and the candy buttons from Pebbles.  For good measure I threw in a few stitches with Orange floss by Sew Easy.

Hope you like it!
Thanks for taking a gander  :)

Thank you very much for stopping by!  Please take a gander at my other work, return to Punky Scraps or go on to the next fabulous artist, Jess and her happy scrappy blog!

Hey Party People!  Anyone out there ready for a challenge?  I happily accepted an invitation to join Jess, Meg and Christina in a monthly challenge group.  For this challenge we would each use the same 4 items (4 girls X 4 items) and it is absolutely amazing how different each of our pages turned out!

We each used the following Pink Paislee elements -

Along with these products, we could use alphas, sewing/thread or twine, and other simplified elements that wouldn't clash with the "use 4 items" challenge.

So this is what I cam up with...
I chose to use the Soiree tags as a banner- just cutting them into penant shapes.  You can see why when I saw this photo the idea came over me right away.

Here is a look at Jess's LO - be sure to go to her blog (click on her page) for more deets on the challenge and a chance at the PRIZE this month!

And here is Meg's fabulous contribution...

Lastly, the adorable page Christina did...

Thanks for checking it out!  Please join us each month for a new challenge using new and different items - with a rotating host each month and a nice little PRIZE for someone lucky!  Cheers  XoXo

How dang cute is this photo?  I mean REALLY!  This is my adorable babe when he just started laughing.  I used Crate paper, Echo Park, and some Making Memories brads.  I wanted to let the photo speak for itself.  Thanks for stopping by!  :)P

Hidey Ho Campers!
This is a shot of one of the three hibiscus plants I have in my backyard.  The color is truly that vibrant, they are incredible.  I popped that pink-orange-red color off the page by using the green-yellow "Music" paper by Pink Paislee.  The rest of the accents/embellies are Crate Paper, except for the Entrada ticket by 7 Gypsies.
This page is for Paper Issues "Show us your grass" challenge - head on over there and link up your own spring(y) LOs and projects!  While you are at it, head over to Punky Scraps and link up a page using yellow, green and orange, and only one patterned paper.

Thanks for your comments!  :)

Hidey Ho Campers!  Welcome to my little stop on the blog hop!  If you are following the blogging order then you must've just come from Michelle Hernandez's fabulous little mini.  Isn't she terrific?
Well, without further adue, let me present my project for the hop.  It is a banner I made for my son for his 9th birthday announcing that I was getting him (us, lol!) a swimming pool!  Now, the FAVE part of it is the new Toy Box Crate Paper line.  It is absolutely perfect for my little armed forces freak.  I snuck in one of Crate's Emma's Shoppe papers just for good measure.

Of course the fact that it was for my son goes along with the fave theme as well, since I tell him often that he is my favorite person in the whole world.  :)

If you are familiar with Paper Issues, then you know that Cassie, our fierce and fearless leader is the absolute master of the banners.  I needed to make one to announce the pool, since that present was not going to be ready for him to "open" on his birthday.  This is the first banner I have ever made and let me tell you, they are fun!  Thanks so very much for joining us on this Paper Issues blog hop!!

OH, I almost forgot - the juicy RAK I am sending one lucky follower!  If you want this delicious package sent to you, leave me a comment on either my project, or the RAK.  If you like my work please do become a follower!  :)

Next on your stop is the fabulously talented Kristy Dalman and her amazing blog The Odd Girl.  Go check her out or return to Paper Issues (did you see the fantastic kit you can win there?)

Hi Y'all!  Another LO here created with new Crate Paper scrumptiousness!  The circular flowers were an idea I grabbed off the Crate Paper blog.  *thanks Crate DT - y'all are awesome!*

This is a pic of my mom, dad, sister and I when we lived in Pacific Grove CA in the mid 70s.  Check out the afro on my dad, would ya! :)

Hopefully you've all participated in the blog hop over at Paper Issues and that may even be how you found me!  If so, you may be wondering when I am going to announce a winner of the lovely swag I previously posted.  I plan on using the child-generated random number picking system this weekend and announcing then.  Please stay tuned!

Hello party people!  This is a LO that goes with my two previous posts.  One was a card and one was the banner I gave my son on his birthday March 15th.  This one is a LO of the paintball party we had.  Oh man, we had a blast!  Aren't you all nervous about your childs party - whether kids come, if he will be happy, and on and on... I plan parties for a living and I wasn't as stressed as when trying to make Cade's come together.
They had a ball moving the "men" around on the "war" cake, and even got to shoot mom in the tummy (uh YES it left a bruise!).

Thanks for taking a gander. Oh and hi to all the new followers!  Thanks so much for being here!  :)

I forgot to give y'all a sneak of the project I will be posting on Saturday! Okay so this is a card, not part of my project but it goes with my project, and uses the same Crate Paper goodness! My son turned 9 on Tuesday, and this was the card I gave him. It went along with the armed forces theme and the paintball party we had. Did I get in on the action? I have the bruises and welts to prove it! :)

Don't forget to join us Saturday for the Paper Issues blog hop!

I am going retro today and posting a couple of my older LOs in hopes that a certain design team finds them and appreciates them  :)  Comments are very much welcomed!  Thanks for checkin' out my old school pages.  :)

This adorable girl is a friend of mine's daughter.  Adelle loves the garden and I made this LO for her in her favorite colors that match her room.  Tons of My Little Shoebox sweetness on this page!

This page is just to sweet not to make honorable mention!  Look at that angel :)  Love, Elsie, Basic Grey and American Crafts here.

Hidey Ho Campers!! Beautiful day today in the hill country of Texas! So, being that it's my day off since the restaurant is closed, I started off the day wanting to scrap. Be that as it may, I couldn't get a page going for the life of me. To the rescue comes Shelley May...yay! Shelley May is my new buddy and one of the design team over at Paper Issues. Check her out she is friggin funny AND talented...(clearing throat) *ahem* beeitch *cough*

Anyway, Shelley gave me a challenge of using red, turquoise (yay!) and kraft with a little yellow, some stitching, 4 punches and one word title and one pic. So here is my take on that...(anyone who knows me knows I can't do what I am told verbatum!) or verbatim?

This is a pic of my legs and Cade's intertwined as we layed on the couch and watched the History Channel. :) I used some awesome apps on my iphone to vintage circa 1970 the photo. Love that damn  iphone and those apps!

Howdy y'all! Here is my gorgeous boy a couple years ago at the Jersey Shore. This is using the Studio Calico kit for February and a couple Clear Cuts from Little Yellow Bicycle (the "tatoos" and wing). I am pulling myself out of a devastating funk...you know where you wonder "what's it all for?" and you don't have one single iota of an idea for a page...and your self confidence (creatively) is shot...Yeah - I have been dealing with a doozy. Hoping the new items I have coming from CHA will help..usually does :)

Any of you get the mojo blues?
